Throwback

Now that finals are over and school is out for a solid 2.5 weeks...I have had nothing but time to kill! I've enjoyed my free time, but it is hard to have absolutely nothing to do. It's weird going from being busy 24/7 to nothing. SO, I made a "to-do" list that has things that need to be done, but are more so for me to be entertained. One of those items was to go through all the pictures on my laptop and organize them. Important...right? Anyways, I've had all our engagement pictures, wedding pictures, bridals, shower pictures, etc. all scrambled into one folder. While going through these photos...I found all the pictures of Jordan and I growing up...and they are SO hilarious. I just had to share!
Enjoy the picture overload

Conference weekend

No new updates from the Meyer's this week. Just finishing up the last few hours of work and then we're off to Kaysville for a short weekend! It'll be nice to be with family and watch conference tomorrow. I might take pictures...but there are no promises!
Cheesy warning...I just love my Husband. He is so good to me! Twice this week I woke up for school & work only to find sweet love notes on our bathroom mirror with neatly packed lunches in the fridge. (with 2 diet cokes this week as well!) He is the best. Ok I'm done with the love. Just had to say it!

Birthday Boy!

Jordan turned the big T W E N T Y - T W O on Wednesday! His birthday was as good as a Wednesday birthday could be...however, we have been celebrating all week long! Monday night we drove up to Kaysville to meet our photographer from our wedding (4 months ago!) to finally see our pictures! After that we went to dinner with my Mom and Dad to Tepanyaki...it was so nice of them to take us out to dinner, thanks again!
Wednesday we both had school, so we didn't see much of each other until 6pm. Since I had school at 8am, I left Jordan's presents on the table so he could see them first thing when he woke up! Jordan also had school and after enjoyed a few good hours of golf. When we finally got home we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse and Jordan even got to ride in the birthday saddle. After dinner...we just hung out at home and enjoyed being together. I even made a key lime cupcake-cake for the birthday boy...and was pleasantly surprised at how it turned out! (taste and look!)
I'm so lucky to have an amazing, strong, handsome, loving husband that Jordan is. I love him more and more each day, and can't wait to celebrate the birthdays to come!
Happy Birthday Love!

So do I.
The realization that I am actually living this dream hit me today. all thanks to this guy.
Jordan is my best friend. He is my biggest support.
I don't know what I'd do without him.
I am grateful for the experiences I have had in my life...I have no regrets. However, I am even more grateful that they led me to Jordan.
(cheesy post? yeah.)
Love Him

I am one lucky girl.

it's friday...

thank goodness for fridays! Even though I have to work 11 hours on fridays...it just means I've got another week done with school! and we're that much closer to graduation (august 23, 2013!!)
School is awesome. HARD. but awesome. Now that I'm getting the hang of the intensity...I'm liking it more and more each day. I've got classes such as anatomy, morphology, embryology, spanish, preventative dental, radiology, radiology lab, pre clinic & pre clinic lab! it's quite the load...but I'm (somehow) managing all of it.
We don't have much to report since we're both super busy. I literally go to school 8-5 and do homework 5-11 Monday-Thursday. Jordan has been SO good to me by helping me with spanish. He has even been sick this week...and yet so helpful. He's a lifesaver! He's been generous with the foot rubs, dinners, and even a trip to coldstone. ha. love him.
anyways...we're both busy (as usual) but loving life!
as a (or what panda likes to call it..) BBQ bonus...here's the link to our FULL wedding video. Our videographer told me that I'm not allowed to just post the video online since we don't have the rights to the music...so for those of you who actually read the blog...click in the link and when it asks for a password...type in jordancatelin (nocaps...no spaces)

I've watched it a million times...can't get enough!!
happy weekend!

back to school

This week has been SUPER busy! Jordan and I started back up in school last Monday...and we've been non-stop ever since. Every year growing up, I received a father's blessing the night before school started. This semester I was able to have my adorable husband give me one. He gave me the most tender blessing of comfort in the decision I have made to attend this school and to start my career. Of course I teared up a little, but it is a moment I'll never forget.
 I love him.

I finally started school at the Utah College of Dental Hygiene (sounds legit eh?) and I'm on my way to becoming a registered dental hygienist. That's right, August 23rd 2013 can not come soon enough! I'm in a class of 60 girls from all over; arizona, california, washington, oregon, idaho, utah, texas...
The next 20 months will probably be the hardest months of my life thus far....but I am excited to get started with the career that I've been working at for almost 4 years now.
Jordan is still at UVU working on his Bachelors....by the time I graduate, he will be wrapping up his degree and looking at schools for his Doctorates in Psychology.
We both have awesome jobs to keep us busy as well outside of school and we LOVE any free time we get to have with each other.
ohhhhh the life of married students.
gotta love it
not many pictures for this post...just basically a little journal entry.
I'll have to get pictures in my school uniform. Navy blue scrubs and white shoes. every. day.
this is the good life

insomnia

Since we've been married I've discovered that my husband struggles when it comes to sleeping at night. I feel bad for him because I am PRO at sleeping. As soon as I lay down I'm out within 5 minutes. He, on the other hand, will stay up until 3 or 4 some nights. It's funny to see what he's been up to in the morning...I'll find that the laundry is folded and put away, there's a lunch waiting for me in the fridge to take to work, the dishes are loaded/unloaded etc. Wednesday morning I woke up to this...
These beautiful flowers and a handmade card! He only had a few newspapers and a magazine to work with for the cut out words...but I love it!
*ps. the mom-to-be is in reference to the future. as in FUTURE :)

christmas in colorado

***long post warning***
This year, for our first Christmas, we had the chance to make a quick (as in QUICK) trip to Colorado. Friday night after Jordan got off work at 9 pm...we packed up the car and drove through the night. We made it to the house at about 5 am and were asleep within minutes. After sleeping for a few hours, we woke up to a busy house! It's always fun having so many people around.
Christmas Eve was so neat this year, and a few of the neighbors came over for the evening. Jordan's Grandma Oma is German, so we had the chance to participate in some German traditions! We had delicious German food, sang silent night in German, and played a white elephant game with candy. After the party people left, we then continued in German traditions! I learned (if I remember right) that in Germany, they don't set up Christmas decorations until Christmas Eve. The parents send their kids to their rooms as they cook and decorate. Then when it's time, the kids are allowed out to enjoy in the decor and loads of food! We had several different types of cold cuts, potato dumplings, sausages, apple strudels, German fruit cocktail cake, and so much more! Then after eating, they open gifts on Christmas Eve. So that's exactly what we did.
This year Jordan gave me a Real Salt Lake jersey donned with my favorite players name. The one, the only, Olave! A few other gifts I also opened were a pair of new snowboarding pants, some lovely mac make up, chocolate, disney movies and jewelry! Jordan got a J3LL watch, comfy sweats, a man (jewelry) box, and some sweet kicks. We also got a Jack LaLanne juicer, a magic bullet and some family pictures.
For Christmas day we ate a delicious breakfast, watched some movies, slept, ate a fabulous turkey dinner, slept, ate some more, and played some apples to apples.
It was perfect.
The only downside? Jordan had to work today at 3 pm...so this morning at 4 am James and Stacey (bless them) drove us to the Denver airport for our 6 am flight. (We sold Jordan's Escalade to his parents so we had to leave it at their house, hence the flight). Then my mom and dad drove us back to provo (bless them).
It was a good Christmas
